WCWG-TV is proud to announce the launch of the WCWG-TV Real Value School Fundraiser. The $10 Real Value Coupon book was created by WCWG-TV to help schools raise much needed money. Real Value will be an on-going WCWG-TV campaign. This first year over 40 schools are participating, and together their sales could raise $250,000!
This is the only 100% school fundraiser in our area. One-hundred percent of the money is kept by the schools. WCWG-TV gives the schools the books to sell and the schools keep all of the money. In addition to giving the schools the coupon books to sell, WCWG-TV is supporting the school fundraiser with a strong TV advertising campaign. Because schools are struggling financially, WCWG-TV decided in February to create this campaign and held several meetings with PTA members, Principals, and Treasurers.
In addition to helping the schools, the station's goal is to help families receive a good value for their $10 donation to schools. WCWG-TV worked hard to create a coupon book that would help families save money. Many local businesses contributed, and the coupon book is filled with over 130 coupons, and includes over + $1,000 in free or buy one get one free offers.
John Bailie, General Manager, says, "We know families are struggling and schools are struggling so the idea of helping both made sense. We can help bridge the gap between families and the schools and help them both financially." Lynn Bailie, General Sales Manager, says, "We created this campaign to help schools raise money. Additionally, we wanted to create a campaign that would help struggling families, and help local businesses at the same time. In addition to creating the coupon book at our cost, we will be advertising that schools are selling the book the entire month of September, so we're helping the schools market the book as well. Children are this countries future and we need to give them the tools they need to succeed. This is a win-win-win for everyone involved in the campaign – the schools, the businesses, and the people that buy the book."
Twenty-five thousand Real Value Coupon Books will be for sale for only $10 starting September 1st and be sold through October 8th. The books contain over $3,900 in savings, and include $1,000 in free or Buy One Get One free offers. Coupons will be honored for a year, or August 31, 2011.
